Kyrgyzstan Museums

Museums in Kyrgyzstan are not identical to the Louvre but they show key cultural and historical traction. They are also the spot where a snow leopard will be nearest to the ordinary human (a stuffed one, albeit). The history of certain museums, such as the State Museum or The Frunze House Museum, was focused on old history and archaeology, such as the museums at Burana Tower and Sulayman-Too, and certain highlights by local craftsmen, such as the Fine Arts Museum and Saimaluu-Tash petroglyphs.

Public collections of libraries became the first museums in Kyrgyzstan. In the Tokmok library in the 1870s a collection was opened to the public, while in 1902, in Prezhevalsk (now Karakol) and the Osh in 1917, another collection was opened.
It was built around the birthplace of General Mikhail FRUNZE in 1925 and was the first proper museum. Established in 1927, the History Museum followed by the Decorative Arts Museum in 1935. In 1981, there were 13 museums, which in the 21st century became 36 state museums, plus a number of private museums.

Archeologists can also visit Burana Tower Museum, which includes local artifacts, or the History and Archeological Museum in Osh, which is cut into Sulayman-sides. Too’s The lives of the most influential Kyrgyzstan figures, among them the Karakol Przhevalski Museum and the Bishkek Aytiev Studio Museum, are detailled by many house museums.
Most museums are open-air and showcased in the open or in the parks in Kyrgyzstan. Not all people can fly to Saimaluu-Tash to view over 10,000 petroglyphs, but Burana Tower and Cholpon-Ata collections are easily available.
