The authorities of Uzbekistan decided to extend visas to foreign citizens located in the republic until May 5, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reports citing data from the State Committee for Tourism.
“Given the problems of foreign citizens leaving Uzbekistan, their visas will be automatically extended until May 5 of this year. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of a special commission to prepare a program of measures to prevent the entry and spread of coronavirus,” the committee said.
Also, citizens of countries that are entitled to enter the country without a visa for a certain period of time, as an exception, will be allowed to leave the country until May 5, 2020.
In the above cases, no measures will be taken against foreign citizens and no fines will be levied.
The Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Tourism Development, organizes Uzbekistan Airways flights to return foreign citizens to their own or third countries at no extra charge, if they have a ticket.
